This extract has a variety of functions: soothing, moisturising, emollient, anti-inflammatory and anti-age. It also stimulates cell regeneration and performs a protective action against UVA rays. The composition of white lily flower extract comprises amino acids, flavonoids, glycosides, phytosterols, polysaccharides, organic acids, carotenoids, tannins and mineral salts, actives that are particularly useful for the care of sensitive skins and to prevent skin ageing.
Description
A perennial plant belonging to the Lilaceae family, which grows spontaneously in Europe and in South America, preferring a light substrate rich in nutritive elements. It presents long stems topped by scented white flowers that open at the end of spring.
Notes
White lilies were cultivated way back in the Minoan period, so that paintings of them can be found on several vases found in Cnosso on the island of Crete. In Christianity, this flower was devoted to the Madonna, hence its association with purity in the language of flowers.
