The main function is emollient. Blackcurrant oil is the main vegetable source of alpha-linoleic acid. The high concentration of essential polyunsaturated fats confers an anti-inflammatory effect that makes it suitable for skin conditions like atopic dermatitis and psoriasis thanks to it. It also improves skin barrier strength with hydrating, elasticizing and anti-age action.
Description
Plant that belongs to the family of Sassifragacee, it grows on the Alps and in places with colder climate. It is characterized by deciduous, glabrous leaves with strongly aromatic oily glands under their surface. The fruit is a black, spherical berry, with sweet aromatic flavor and scent.
Notes
Despite its small size, the blackberry has a higher Vitamin C concentration then oranges.
